Javi de Castro
Nominated for Best Children's Comic at the 43rd Comic Barcelona Awards

Javi de Castro (León, 1990) began in the world of fanzines and webcomics, collaborating on publications and self-publishing.
He wrote and drew his first full-length work, Sandía para cenar (Watermelon for Dinner - Thermozero, 2014) and collaborated with screenwriter Josep Busquet in La Última aventura (The Last Adventure - Dibbuks, 2015) and with María Hernández Martí in Que no, que no me muero (I Just won’t Die - Modernito Books, 2016).

In 2016 he was awarded the prize for author revelation at Comic Barcelona, and shortly afterwards he returned as a full author with Larson, el hombre con más suerte del mundo (Larson, the Luckiest Man on Earth - Modernito Books, 2017). In 2019 he launches the webcomic The Eyes, for which he is nominated for the Eisner and Harvey Awards 2020.

Cosmo en el espacio (Cosmo in Space - Astiberri, 2024), his first children's comic, won him the “Ojo Crítico de Cómic” Award. Javi de Castro is also dedicated to illustration, where his collaboration with Modesto García in Crímenes ilustrados (Illustrated Crimes), a viral game on social networks that ended up as a series of books published by Plaza & Janés, stands out.
