Javier Marquina

Javier Marquina (Huesca, 1975). Publisher, critic and scriptwriter of comic strips.

Second prize in the III Comic Contest against Gender Violence (2017) organized by the City Council of Zaragoza for the work Rostros (Faces) together with the cartoonist Fernando Casaus.

His first professional work Abraxas (2018), drawn by Ertito Montana and published by GP Ediciones, won the prize for the best script in the Aragonese

Comic Awards at the Zaragoza Comic Fair in 2018 and the TRAN prize for the Aragonese comic to the script in 2019.

From there he has not stopped working. He has written titles such as Aquí nunca pasa nada (Nothing ever happens here), 1585:Empel, Playa Honda (Deep Beach), Cómo hacer un cómic sin tener ni puta idea (How to Make a Comic Without Having a Fucking Clue - nominated for best fanzine in the Comic Barcelona of 2021) or Dum Dum, comic book nominated for best work of Spanish authorship in the Comic Barcelona of 2025 and that him the prize for best scriptwriter for the second time in the Aragonese Comic Book Awards of 2024. For this Comic Barcelona 2025 he will launch Kaijuland with Yermo Ediciones.
