Cédric Mayen developed a passion for reading, especially comics, at a very young age. At the age of ten, he discovered a new culture when he moved to Italy, where he stayed until he graduated from high school.
He then moved to Lyon to study performing arts. During these three years, he wrote and directed several short films. He then continued his training with a master's degree at a Franco-Japanese school specializing in comics. As soon as he finished his studies, he published two volumes of the series ElementR (Vents d'Ouest) in manga format.
His love of travel and discovery took him to other countries and he spent long periods in Brazil, Japan and the United Kingdom. Back in France, he took part in several short projects for magazines (Lyon Capitale, MBD and Spirou).
In 2017, he published Edelweiss (Vents d'Ouest), a comic book illustrated by Lucy Mazel, which won several national awards. In 2019, he directed the first youth series on skateboarding, Erwann (Jungle), with drawings by Yann Cozic, and the second volume was already published in 2021. In 2022, Volume 3 of Erwann (Jungle), the biography Les Frères Michelin, une Aventure Industrielle (Le Lombard), drawn by Fabien Nappey and colored by Hugo Poupelin, and Le Château de Montaigu (Bulles de Bourgogne), a ten-page historical booklet drawn by Djon, were published.
In 2023, Volume 1 of Poltron Minet (Dupuis) drawn by Madd and Witch Club with Sandra Cardona (Dargaud); the one-shot L'Arc-en-Cieliste (Dargaud) in collaboration with Roberto Ricci and Laura Iorio and the one-shot The Mystery of the Dyatlov Pass (Le Lombard) with Jandro Gonzalez were published. This year also marks his debut as an editor with the publication of the illustrated science magazine Ébullition(s).
