Until she was able to become a professional comic book author in 2007, Emma self-published her works while studying architecture at the same time. She has done commissioned work for several American publishers, such as Marvel or DC, until she was able to return to independent comic books in 2013 with Pretty Deadly (Astiberri 2016) in collaboration with Kelly Sue DeConnick.
At the same publishing house she co-edited Island Magazine where she began publishing I.D, which was later compiled into a single book (Astiberri, 2016) and Mirror (Astiberri, 2017), that was created four-handed in collaboration with author Hwei Lim. She is currently working on a new book called Anzuelo (Bait), which will be released this year. After several Eisner Award
nominations, she finally wins best cover artist in 2020. As an illustrator she has collaborated with clients such as SIE, PRADA or Wizards of the Coast.
