Fermín Solís (Madroñera, 1972) is a cartoonist and illustrator. His first pages were published in the fanzines Subterfuge and Cabezabajo, followed by longer works, including the cycle starring his alter ego Martín Mostaza; Los días más largos (The Longest Days – 2003), that allowed him to win the award for best new author at Comic Barcelona 2004, El año que vimos nevar (The Year we Saw Snow - 2006) and Mi organismo en obras (My Organism in Works - 2011).
Fermín Solís established himself as one of the Spanish authors with the greatest international projection and future with the publication of the graphic novel Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles (2008), finalist of the National Comic Award and republished in color in 2019.
After abandoning comics for a decade to devote himself to children's books; he is the author of the comic collections Astro-ratón y Bombillita (Astro-Mouse and Light Bulb) and La Tribu Chatarra (The Junk Tribe), as well as the novels in the Harry & Cerdon series, he has returned to graphic novels for adults with Medea a la deriva (Medea Adrift - 2021).
His books have been translated and published in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and France.
