Paco Sordo was born in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, in 1979.
In 2010 he began the series Internet: modo de empleo (Internet: How to use) in the satirical magazine El Jueves. In 2014 he published Tebeos basura (Garbage Comics) in the digital magazine Orgullo y satisfacción.
Much of his work is aimed for children; he has illustrated more than fifty titles for the American and Franco-Belgian market. Since 2021 he has been publishing the Niko series for the BDKids imprint of the Bayard publishing house, a work that since September 2023 has also been republished in the Astrapi magazine.
In 2021 he launched the self-conclusive comic book El Pacto (The Pact), published by Nuevo Nueve, in which he paid tribute to Spanish comics and the Bruguera School through the fictional life of Miguel Gorriaga, an aspiring cartoonist who plots the kidnapping of Manuel Vázquez.
The following year, El Pacto won the Prize for Best Spanish Author's Work at Comic Barcelona. Paco Sordo was awarded the 2022 National Comic Prize, given by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, for having projected in that novel “the legacy of Spanish comics into the present and the future.”
