Martin Panchaud was born in 1982 in Geneva, Switzerland, and has been living in Zurich for several years. He is an author and an illustrator and has produced several comics, large size graphic stories and numerous infographics with his unique visual style.
Due to his severe dyslexia he was unable to reach higher education studies. However, he trained in comics at EPAC, in Saxon, and later obtained a Federal Certificate of Competence as a graphic designer in Geneva. His dyslexia made him place reading, as well as the interpretation of shapes and their meanings, at the center of his research, and prompted him to choose a very particular style to express his creativity and tell stories.
He has received several awards for his work and has attended some artistic residencies to develop his creative projects. His work has been exhibited in various cultural establishments in Europe, such as the Barbican Centre in London and the Onassis Stegi Cultural Centre in Athens, he received great recognition with his impressive work entitled SWANH.NET, a 123-meter long comic adaptation of Star Wars Episode IV, published online in 2016.
The Color of Things, his first graphic novel, was originally published in German by Edition Moderne in 2020 and has won numerous awards in Switzerland, Germany and France.
