COMIC REWIND

Lorena Alvarez (Bogotá, Colombia. 1983)

Writer and illustrator Lorena Alvarez stands out for the vitality and colour in her work, a reflection of her birthplace. She studied Graphic Design and Art at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (National University of Colombia), and since then has illustrated children’s books, independent publications, advertisements and fashion magazines. In Astiberri’s catalogue we can find the book Luces nocturnas (Nightlights), a mysterious and graphically stunning children’s album, a beautiful story about fear, insecurity, creativity and the power of imagination, that will run to a total of three volumes.

Since 2008, Lorena Alvarez is a member of La Procesión Puppet Club, an experimental puppetry group made up of illustrators and visual artists.

You can follow her on her Twitter account @ArtichokeKid. Lorena Alvarez is attending the 36th Barcelona International Comic Fair thanks to the cooperation of Astiberri Ediciones.
