Raúl was born in Madrid and started his animation career in TV series for the North American market such as The Flintstones or The Smurfs.
He has worked as an animator in international feature films such as Asterix Versus Caesar, The Chipmunk Adventure and The Land Before Time. His work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit opened doors for him as an animator at Walt Disney Studios where he worked for 9 years. He was a character animator for modern classics such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules and Pocahontas.
After Fantasia 2000, Raúl began his phase as a sequence director for Paramount Studios in films such as Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, The Wild Thornberrys Movie and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius nominated for an Oscar for best animated film.
