Maribel Carod (Barcelona, 1978) is an illustrator and comic book author. Her colorful vignettes of expressive characters have appeared in El Jueves for more than six years, where she has drawn pages of vignettes based on current events on her own. She started in the gastronomic humor series Hay hambre (We are hungry), with Carlos Escuin as a scriptwriter, which was partly compiled in a volume of the same title, published by Fandogamia in 2020.

She has participated in the political and cultural talking shows of Els Matins de TV3 drawing live, has published cartoons in magazines and weeklies such as Amaníaco, La Directa, El Salto or Núvol and a miniseries about UFOs named Són entre nosaltres (They are Among Us) for the Sunday supplement of the newspaper Ara. She has participated in the collective book Vinómics (Norma Cómics, 2018) as well and was the illustrator of the graphic novels Esta farmacia es una cruz (This pharmacy will cross somebody off) and Esta farmacia necesita receta (This pharmacy needs a prescription), both published by Grijalbo. On the internet, and under the pseudonym “Señora Gamer”, she publishes graphic humor vignettes about the world of video games.
