Miguel Can (Madrid, 1974).
His parents had hoped that he would become a scientific genius or a famous architect, but from an early age he felt an irresistible attraction to picture books, comic books, and all forms of storytelling. Thus, he was inevitably drawn into the world of art and imagination.
Bachelor of Fine Arts, University Expert in Animation and 3D.
Professional illustrator since 2000, trained in several graphic design companies. He then worked as a freelance illustrator on numerous commissions and textbooks, before entering the world of children's and young adults' literature in 2013. He currently combines various projects in illustrated literature and comics with teaching visual arts. He organizes author meetings and comic workshops in different schools and libraries. He also gives lectures on the professionalization of illustration.
He was awarded the II Comic Creation Grant El arte de volar by the Fundación El arte de volar, Norma Editorial and Grupo Edelvives for his project Personaje (Character), which is currently in development. He was awarded the prize for the best children's comic at FESTILIF 2025.
