Emma Ríos (Vilagarcía de Arousa, 1976) is a writer whose training was halfway between architecture and self-publishing, until she decided to dedicate herself to comics professionally in 2007.

After doing commissioned work for various American publishers such as Marvel Entertainment or DC Comics, since 2013 she has focused on her own work, with works such as I.D. (Astiberri, 2016), her latest Anzuelo (Bait - stiberri, 2025), which she does alone, or the two volumes of Mirror (Astiberri, 2017 and 2019), in collaboration with Hwei Lim.

She is currently working on the fourth volume of Pretty Deadly (Astiberri, 2014, 2016 and 2019), a series she creates with Kelly Sue DeConnick, for which Ríos has been nominated several times for Eisner Awards, finally winning the award for Best Cover Artist in 2020.
