Katia Klein Carulla is an actress, illustrator and scriptwriter.

She was born in Santander, but grew up in Barcelona, where she began her training as an actress at the Col·legi del Teatre de Barcelona. Later, in Madrid, she trained at the Estudio de Juan Carlos Coraza and at ESDIP she began her training as an illustrator.

She has worked for many years in film, theater and television. Some of her most outstanding projects are Cuéntame (Tv1), A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Matadero theater in Madrid, Las niñas no deberían jugar al futbol (Girls Should Not Play Soccer) at the Canal theaters or Station of the Forgotten, directed by Christian Molina.

For years, she has combined acting with her career as an illustrator, where she has discovered her passion for telling stories by giving them words and images herself.

Among her best known books are Papi comeniños (Daddy Baby Eater) selected as a finalist in the Golden PinWheel awards in China, Cacahuete y Medio (Peanut and Half), Lea y Los pájaros (The Birds) among many others.

In 2022 she won the award for best children's comic as a scriptwriter with Nicoleta y el misterio del Colmillo (Nicoleta and the Mystery of the Fang) at the International Comic Fair of Barcelona.

After many years working in these three disciplines, she decides to unify them to create Por el monte las sardinas, her first animated feature film as a screenwriter.
